What is the IDG Ambassador Programme?

The Inner Development Goals (IDG) Ambassador Program is a three-day course designed to help changemakers effectively advocate for inner development, facilitating its integration into society to bring us closer to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This programme is the first of its kind – a co-created prototype that aims to equip changemakers with the knowledge, skills and networks needed to drive positive change within their organisations, communities and beyond.

The programme will create a secure and supportive environment for 30 individuals (20 participants and 10 IDG facilitators) to thoroughly explore inner development and the IDG Framework through various narratives, resources and tools.

Co-Creation Dialogues

The Co-Creation Dialogues for the IDG Ambassador Programme are interactive workshops where you can contribute ideas and feedback to shape the programme's manual and structure. Join us to share your insights and help create a programme that reflects our collective vision. Your input is crucial!

Mission Statement

We are a global movement that advocates for inner development and enables its integration into society.

What is the purpose of the programme?

The primary purpose of this programme is to equip changemakers with compelling stories, knowledge, and skills needed to effectively advocate for and apply the Inner Development Goals across various contexts and to diverse stakeholders.

After three years of working with Inner Development and the IDGs, we have identified a clear need for an Ambassadors Program. This program will draw on the rich insights and experiences from hubs and networks around the world, creating a flexible structure that can be adapted and applied in various formats and contexts.

Participants in this pilot Ambassador Programme will have the unique opportunity to connect directly with the IDG initiators, partners and fellow ambassadors, collaborating to refine narratives, develop compelling communication strategies and strengthen the overall impact of the IDG movement.

You will become part of a collaborative learning community dedicated to applying the IDG Framework in various contexts and tailoring approaches to different stakeholders.

This is an open, co-creative process beginning with a pre-meeting where all community members are invited to align and prepare for the journey ahead.

What will you be able to do after the programme?

By the end of this programme, you will be equipped to:

    • Describe each dimension of the IDG Framework, providing scientific insights and real-life examples.

    • Demonstrate each IDG dimension and skill with practical exercises/practices.

    • Advocate for the importance and benefits of inner development and the IDGs to diverse audiences and stakeholders.

    • Craft and share a strong narrative that highlights the significance and impact of inner development for outer change.

    • Explain the developmental process, guiding principles and Theory of Change of the IDG.

    • Articulate the connection between the IDG and SDGs, explaining how they complement each other.

    • Adapt your IDG presentations and introductions to suit different target groups and contexts.

    • Leverage various resources, including the IDG Website, scientific reports, toolboxes, roadmaps, and more, to support your advocacy and application of IDGs.

      Application Process

Limited Places: Places are limited to 20 participants—submitting an application does not guarantee a spot.

Selection Criteria: Our goal is to create a balanced group with a range of backgrounds and experiences.

Given the limited places, the application process ensures a diverse and dedicated group of participants. If not selected, applicants are encouraged to apply for future training programmes.

This is the first in a series of educational trainings in various formats, some of which will be available online. Different members of the community will have opportunities to participate. The Hubs Community will be invited to participate in ongoing open dialogues and contribute to the co-creation process. If you are interested, please check the application form.

On completion of the programme, all participants will receive a certificate and become part of a community of Licenced IDG Ambassadors*.

*This programme does not certify you to train other ambassadors but will be a prerequisite for future certification. Following several in-person programmes, online formats will also be developed.
