What is Elevate?

Elevate is a week-long co-living retreat where everyone is part of dreaming up, creating and holding space. It takes place on a private island in the Stockholm archipelago. 

Elevate invites you to create the week together with everyone else who will be attending. This means we are all co-hosts of this event and everyone creates it, including meals, looking after the space, workshops and activities. 

Elevate provides an open, curated, safe and inclusive space for the all attendees to work on their inner development, connect with others and nature in a deeper way and ignite the possibility of bringing something new to the world. 

Elevate is an initiative that connects sub-communities. Our intention is to open up different communities, and especially the ones that are not currently involved with the event.

Elevate Retreat Essentials

  • This is a non-profit event: There are no producers and consumers.
  • This is a sober event: No drugs or alcohol.
  • We cook vegan meals: Once during the week you and your food team will prepare a vegan meal to the whole group.
  • It is an English-speaking retreat: You will be kindly asked to speak in English always. 
  • Co-working is optional: You will have a dedicated space for it. 
  • Spots are limited to 40 people: You will have your own bed in a shared room with one other participant.
  • It is an 7 days long event: We will prioritize those who stay the full week. 
  • We look for actively engaged attendees: The willingness to contribute to prior, during and after will also be prioritized.
  • It is multicultural: Everyone is welcome from any part of the world. 
  • This is an immersive experience: It holds the potential to shift the way you see reality, others and the community.

Elevate Ripple Effect

Elevate aims to create a positive impact in raising consciousness and connection in our society. Like a ripple effect. 

We want to encourage integration and connection between the individual self and society. Elevate promotes creating an integral perspective and mindset shift and a positive change for your life. 

It’s an intentional opportunity to reframe your sense-making and meaning-making, to shift your relationship to community and yourself, to provide inspiration for what life and world that is possible and how you see the world. 

There is something you will take with you back after the week, and It’s so much more than a weeklong experience. 

The Elevate Values

Co-creation: We are all hosts. Everyone is an active co-creator and contributor of the event. 

Self-reliance: Only you know your needs. You are responsible to be aware of, honour and take care of your own needs. 

Inclusion: Everyone is welcome. We welcome everyone with kindness and appreciation, even if it is challenging for us. 

Responsibility: Leave a better trace.  A mindset of being a caretaker of both the island and the group.

What is the membership fee?

Elevate Retreat is a non-profit and independent event supported by the Ekskäret Foundation. There are no producers and consumers; the membership fees are solely based on the cost of running the event.

Elevate Retreat Membership Options:

  • High Income Membership: 4500 kr
  • Standard Membership: 3000 kr
  • Sponsored Membership: 1500 kr

By choosing the High Income Membership, you help make the retreat accessible to others, as the full amount goes directly to sponsoring those in need, with none of it used for costs such as salaries or administration. This ensures that Elevate Retreat remains a non-profit event where no one gets paid.

Sponsored memberships are intended for those who truly need financial support. If you decide to apply for a sponsored membership, you will be asked to provide the reason for your application in the application form. 

Additional Costs to Consider:

  • Cooking: You will be part of a cooking team that will cook once for all attendees. Your team will need to self-organize prior to the event and buy the food as a gift to the group. We recommend a budget of 300-500 SEK per person
  • Transportation: Estimated at 200-300 SEK per person (bus and boat).

Ekskäret Island is modern and well-equipped facilities, optimized for retreats and gatherings.

Selection process finishes: October 10th

Save your spot by paying before: October 18th

Kick-off meeting:  About two weeks before the retreat

*We will inform you if you've been offered a spot. You will then have a few days to confirm it, so please keep an eye on your inbox/spam. 

Once you save your spot, you will be sent all the information: cooking teams, cleaning teams, workshops/activities application, how to get to the Island, etc. We will also provide information on how to get to the island.

    Let's hibernate together

    The theme for this edition of Elevate is Hibernate. 

    We invite you to reflect a bit extra on what this means to you and to use this as a source of inspiration.

    What is the schedule? 

    Monday to Friday: 

    We'll have co-working sessions during the days, giving everyone time to focus on their own projects or simply relax on the island. 

    We'll come together for communal meals twice a day, where we'll cook as teams. Evenings are for shared activities that we'll create together. 

    Additionally, there will be optional workshops throughout the week, allowing you to choose what interests you based on your schedule, needs and energy levels. 

    Saturday and Sunday:

    Community gathering with co-created workshops, activities, and shared meals.

    Inner Development & Elevate

    The world is changing rapidly, and its complexity is increasing. So do we. This is why we believe it is important to cultivate the inner landscape as it creates the outer world. 

    Inner Development Goals is a framework which, through five dimensions, describes 23 different skills and qualities essential to our own inner development - and down the line in order to reach the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. 

    At Elevate aims is to give special attention and focus to the first dimension of the framework. It is called'Being - Relationship to Self' :

    "Cultivating our inner life and developing and deepening our relationship to our thoughts, feelings and body help us be present, intentional and non-reactive when we face complexity".

    The mission of the Ekskäret Foundation is to both make sense of the world we create and allow brave spaces for people to explore and work on their inner growth. Studies show that having a "safe place” in connection to nature, where we dare to challenge ourselves, can act as an important catalyst for the process of personal development. We support and contribute to these brave places by creating contexts for transformative learning, where skills can be developed to better handle the constantly increasing complexity of our world.

    An Ekskäret initiated and funded "conscious co-living community" with 50 young professionals from all over the world living and thriving together under one roof in central Stockholm. Started with the aim to support the development of a more conscious society.
